The Clipper card

Whistlestop is a resource for Clipper Card and other transit service passes. They can be purchased in-person at Whistlestop’s Front Office (cash or credit card). Contact us for more information.

Clipper

Clipper (formerly known as Translink) is an all-in-one transit card that keeps track of any passes, discount tickets, ride books and cash value that you load onto the card. Whistlestop offers full fare Adult cards and discounted Senior Clipper cards. To receive a Senior Clipper card you must be at least 65 years old and show proof of age (i.e. Birth Certificate, State issued ID, State Driver’s License, or Passport) and register your card. Whistlestop also offers the service of adding value to your Clipper card using a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or cash. For more information, please go to the website. Whistlestop does not carry Youth Clipper cards. For Youth Clipper cards, or for problems with any damaged Clipper card, please go to the Golden Gate Transit customer service window located in the Golden Gate Transit Center next door to Whistlestop.

RTC Discount Card Program

Regional Transit Connection Discount Card Program (RTC) is a program that allows people with disabilities to qualify for a discounted fare on public transportation. To obtain an RTC card you must apply by filling out either a “Medical” or “Basic” application. Both forms are available at Whistlestop’s Front Office (“Basic” application for download). RTC Discount Cards can be used on most Bay Area Transportation, such as Golden Gate Transit, Golden Gate Ferry, Muni, BART, AC Transit, Caltrans, etc. Application forms for renewal, lost or replacement cards are also available. Application fees vary from $3 to $5. For more information, please visit the website.

Marin Transit Period Pass

Local Marin Transit Period Passes are passes that provide unlimited rides on Marin Transit during a time frame. Marin Transit’s 7-day and 31-day Senior/Disabled and 7-day and 31-day Youth passes are available for purchase in Whistlestop’s front office. For more information, please visit the website.

Whistlestop Wheels Express Tickets

Whistlestop Wheels Express Tickets are paper tickets that Whistlestop clients can use instead of cash to ride local Whistlestop Paratransit. Booklets of 10 tickets are available at the Whistlestop office for $20.00. Express Tickets cannot be used for rides outside of Marin County.
