Whistlestop partners with Legal Aid of Marin to provide a free, 30-minute legal consultation at Whistlestop on Thursdays, and the 1st and 3rdThursday of the month at the Mill Valley Community Center. Clients must be 60 years of age or older, and reside in Marin County to qualify for the service. To schedule an appointment, call the Help Desk at 415-459-6700.
We provide general advice, give them options, explain their rights, and if appropriate, refer them to attorneys who have expertise in certain areas of law. We don’t become their lawyer.”

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
Yep. It’s that time again… The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income individuals. IRS certified volunteers prepare basic tax returns. For more information and to find out about who qualifies, call 415-456-9062 ext. 128, or contact us.
