Meals On Wheels Driver/Assistant – Part Time M/W/F and On-Call Driver
We are looking for a qualified Meals on Wheels Driver/Assistant to work part time, 20-25hours a week on M/W/F. The Whistlestop Meals on Wheels Driver will receive a schedule, assemble the day’s meals and deliver them in a safe and timely manner within east Marin in accordance with our policies and procedures. The driver will check on the recipient and report on status as appropriate. In addition to the Driver/Assistant, we are looking for a qualified Meals on Wheels Driver to work on an on-call, part time basis.
Drivers must be reliable, friendly and neat and clean in appearance. They must possess and maintain a valid CDL and insurance and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Whistlestop will have a limited amount of vehicles for certain routes however many routes will require the driver to utilize their personal vehicle. In these circumstances mileage will be reimbursed. Drivers must be able to read maps, utilize a GPS devise and navigate safely thorough a prescribed route with multiple delivery stops. Candidates will submit to a pre-employment screening and background check. Paratransit Drivers – Full Time, Part Time and On-Call
We are looking for friendly and reliable drivers. Our driver positions require a good driving record, excellent customer service skills and a desire to help others. Whistlestop’s Transportation program offers paratransit services for older adults and disabled persons of Marin County who are not able to use public transportation due to their disability or health related conditions. Rides are provided for medical appointments, shopping, and therapy or to visit friends and family. Paratransit service is provided for any purpose where one might use a fixed route bus.
After completing our pre-employment screening, drivers will participate in a fully paid training which prepares them for all aspects of the job as well as training for their Class B commercial drivers license (with no out of pocket expenses for testing or training materials). This is a very active job and drivers must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, push, pull and stretch. Drivers are required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen and submit to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with federal law throughout employment as a condition of continued employment.
