The Brown Bag Pantries are open to older adults(60+) who live in Marin County. Currently there are Brown Bag Pantries at 6 Senior Housing Facilities and at Margaret Todd Senior Center. After the holidays, the program is expanding to Whistlestop.
The Brown Bag Pantry will open in the Caboose at Whistlestop on Friday January 11, 2013 at 11:30 am and will be open every Friday. The pantry is a supplemental food program that allows older adults to choose from a vast array of seasonal fruits and veggies; protein items, such as meat, eggs, or beans; grains —pasta, bread, or rice, and canned goods for those with limited mobility.
